Seas' acidic waters eat away at the solidified volcanic spurts that dot the waves. The swamps are littered with the dripping carcasses of Phyrexian horrors. Their greenseekers roam Dominaria in search of any thriving plant matter, but the plains are dry salt flats blasted by windstorms. The trees are gray and rotting and covered with a sickly, fungal kudzu. Salt rains from the sky and the air is poisonous. In the end Phyrexia and its god, Yawgmoth, were defeated, but not before they devastated Dominaria. Over two hundred years ago, Phyrexia invaded the plane. Flavor and storyline Īfter more than its fair share of cataclysms, the plane Dominaria is in ruins. Additional art for several tokens was created for Magic Online. The set was accompanied by the novel of the same name by Scott McGough. The prerelease card was a foil alternate art Lotus Bloom. The prerelease events for this set were held on September 23–24, 2006. This created the possibility of "three rare" boosters in Time Spiral, as it was possible to find the normal rare, a premium rare and a Timeshifted card that was previously rare in the same pack. Past expansions replaced a card of the same rarity as the premium card. All premium cards were now included in booster packs replacing a common card. ![]() Time Spiral was the first set to use a new premium card distribution method. Tournament decks contained three timeshifted cards, replacing three commons. Instead, they included ten commons, three uncommons, one rare and one purple-rarity timeshifted card. Time Spiral was the first set since Alliances to distribute cards in boosters differently from the typical eleven commons, three uncommons and one rare format. The booster packs featured artwork from Serra Avenger, Sengir Nosferatu, Mishra, Artificer Prodigy, Undying Rage, and Bogardan Hellkite. All products except the boosters contained a random Pro Tour Players Card. Time Spiral was sold in 75-card tournament decks, 15-card boosters, four preconstructed theme decks and a fat pack. Manufactured by Franklin Instrument Company Time Spiral promo wall clock given by ACD (game distributor) for a qualifying. Timeshifted cards are treated as a part of Time Spiral block, thus it is legal in any format that uses Time Spiral's cards (Standard, Extended, Block Constructed, Modern). However, in the Time Spiral preconstructed decks, timeshifted cards are treated as though they had their original rarity, as each deck features several of the timeshifted cards that were originally common, including multiples of the same card. ![]() One timeshifted card appears in every Time Spiral booster pack, making the cards roughly 50% as rare as rare cards, which also appear once per pack but comprise of only 80 cards. Each card in the subset features the old Seventh Edition card frame and has a new purple expansion symbol to denote their unique rarity. Timeshifted cards make up a 121-card subset comprised entirely of pre- Mirrodin reprints, tying in with the set's theme of revisiting the past.

![]() From a macro viewpoint, the initial energy of each constituent becomes more dispersed in the new larger volume provided by the combined volumes of the components. The entropy effects in gas expansion into a vacuum, as described previously, are qualitatively similar to gases mixing. Therefore, this means closer energy levels, far more than were available for the motional energy in the liquid - and a greatly increased number of microstates for the vapor. (All of the enthalpy of vaporization is needed to break intermolecular bonds in the liquid.) However in the case of liquid to vapor, there is a huge expansion (a thousand times increase)in volume. Similarly, a liquid at its vaporization temperature has the same energy as its gas molecules. Thus, that previous motional energy of intermolecular vibration that was in the crystal is now distributed among a far greater number of new translational energy levels, and that means that there are many more accessible microstates than in the solid. This might be compared to a fantastically huge dance in which the individual participants don't move very far (takes a water molecule >12 hours to move a cm at 298K) but they are holding hands and then releasing to grab new partners far more frequently than billions of times a second. When the liquid forms, there is rapid breaking of hydrogen bonds (trillionths of a second) and forming new ones with adjacent molecules. However, a change in the motional energy - not an increase in the quantity of energy - occurs from the transfer of vibrational energy in the ice crystal to the liquid. Of course, it is released when the temperature of the system drops below the freezing/melting point). The process is isothermal, and therefore there is no energy transferred to the system to increase motional energy. (This potential energy remains unchanged in a substance throughout heating, expansion, mixing, subsequent phase change to a vapor, or mixing. Because melting involves bond-breaking, it is an entropy increase in the potential energy of the substance involved. The rigid tetrahedral structure is no longer present in liquid water but the presence of a large number of hydrogen bonds is shown by the greater density of water than ice due to the even more compact hydrogen-bonded clusters of H 2O.) Quantitatively, the entropy increase in this isothermal dispersal of energy from the surroundings is ΔH Fusion /T. Many, but not all of the hydrogen bonds in crystalline ice are broken. (“To the degree required” has special significance in the melting of ice. To change a solid to a liquid at its melting point requires large amounts of energy to be dispersed from the warmer surroundings to the solid for breaking the intermolecular bonds to the degree required for existence of the liquid at the fusion temperature. ![]() This condition is not covered under the limited warranty.Ī properly-sized thermal expansion tank should be installed on all closed systems to control the harmful effects of thermal expansion. The temperature pressure relief valve is not intended for the constant relief of thermal expansion. Thermal expansion can also cause intermittent temperature pressure relief valve operation: water discharged from the valve due to excessive pressure build up. This type of failure is not covered under the limited warranty. Thermal expansion can cause premature tank failure (leakage). As the volume of water grows, there will be a corresponding increase in water pressure due to thermal expansion. In a closed system, the volume of water will grow. As water is heated, it expands (thermal expansion). Typically, a closed system includes a pressure reducing valve (PRV) on the cold water inlet (supply line). Only qualifi ed person should service these components.ĭO NOT use with piping that has been treated with chromate’s, boiler seal, or other chemicals.ĭO NOT add any chemicals to the system piping which will contaminate the potable water supply. Close the faucet and check all connections for leaks.ĭO NOT install this water heater with iron piping. To purge the lines of any excess air and sediment, keep the hot water faucet open for 3 minutes after a constant flow of water is obtained. After piping has been properly connected to the water heater, open the nearest hot water faucet. Then open the cold water shut off valve and allow the tank to completely fill with water. Install as specified under “Temperature and Pressure Relief Valve”.ħ. Install a discharge line from the temperature and pressure relief valve in the opening marked “T & P RELIEF VALVE”. ![]() Know the location of this valve and how to shut off the water to the heater.Ħ. It should be located close to the water heater and be easily accessible. Install a shut-off valve in the cold water inlet line. If installing the water heater in a closed water system, install a relief valve or expansion tank in the cold water line as specified under “Closed System/Thermal Expansion”.ĥ. Contact a licensed plumber or the local plumbing authority.Ĥ. These valves reduce the point-of-use temperature of the hot water by mixing cold and hot water and are readily available. Some local codes may require, and the manufacturer of this water heater recommends, installing a mixing valve in the domestic hot water line as shown in Figure 4. The Installation of dielectric unions in both the hot and cold water supply lines is recommended for ease of removing the water heater for service or replacement.ģ. IMPORTANT: Some models may contain energy saving heat traps to prevent the circulation of hot water within the pipes. Connect the hot water supply (3/4” NPT) to the fitting marked “Hot”. Connect the cold water supply (3/4” NPT) to the fitting marked “Cold”. Install the water piping and fitting as shown in Figure 3. IMPORTANT: Always use a good grade of joint compound and be certain that all fi ttings are drawn up tight.ġ. If solder connections are used, solder the pipe to the adapter before attaching the adapter to the hot and cold water fittings. IMPORTANT: Heat cannot be applied to the water fittings on the heater as they may contain nonmetallic parts. This should be placed on the supply to the entire house in order to maintain equal hot and cold water pressures. If this occurs, a pressure reducing valve should be installed in the cold water inlet line. Water supply pressure should be around 50 to 60 psi and should not exceed 80 psi. If the indoor installation area is subject to freezing temperatures, the water piping must be protected by insulation. The fourth statement should say that the limit does not exist. ![]() Please ignore the typo on the orange cards. But, I wanted to be able to cut them apart in strips and give my pairs of students a single function or limit statement at a time. You could leave each set of 5 statements attached and give them to students all at once. I highly recommend splurging a bit on the actual laminator and buying the cheapest laminating pouches you can find! I currently use a Scotch laminator at home and a Swingline laminator at school. I’ve had several laminators over the years. I printed each set on a different color of Astrobrights paper and ran them through my laminator.Ī laminator is a MUST-HAVE for me as a math teacher! I spent my first six years as a teacher at a school with a broken laminator, so I had to find a way to laminate things myself. Each statement provided either a fact in either limit or function notation. To prep for this activity, I typed up three sets of five statements. I started wondering if I could do this same sort of scaffolding with my calculus students. If they were correct, I would give them a card with a new characteristic to add to their function. The group would have to sketch a function to match the characteristic and get their work checked. Then, I would give each group one card at a time. Instead of giving my students all of the function characteristics that their sketch needed to have at the beginning, I printed each characteristic on a different card. So instead of just starting somewhere, they were waiting for me to give them the answer since we were working through the notes as a class.Ī few years ago, I made a function sketching activity for my Algebra 2 students. I think the issue was that they didn’t know where to start. It wasn’t that my students didn’t know what to do. I found that my students were a bit overwhelmed by the amount of information given to them in the problem at once. ![]() Last week, my calculus students really struggled with this graph sketching problem from Bryan Passwater‘s fabulous AP Calculus notes. I created this limits graph sketching activity to give my AP calculus students some much-needed practice interpreting limit notation. Want to check out my favorite Amazon items for the classroom? But her real opportunity came in 1999 at a Black Lilly performance (a browned-skinned and Philly-blunted Lillith Fair) were she was the opening act for a set that included The Jazzy FatNastees, Res and Jill Scott all backed by The Roots. The 24-year-old Wright has been in the game for about a decade getting an early start as an MC in the group Philly Blunts. The day after the performance debuted on MTV 2, everybody was asking, who was that “chick” with Jigga. While Jay Z, Nas and The Roots are exchanging crossfire - instigated by New York’s HOT 97 ( Vibe Magazine style) - Jaguar Wright took the opportunity to come up in the world. Even the so-called “Queen of Hip-hop Soul” had to up her game when she joined Jay on stage for a rendition of their classic “Can’t Knock the Hustle.” The latter exchange of “Ain’t No” by the two is about as soulful and moving as hip-hop has ever allowed itself to be. That moment helped transformed the listening studio into the church of ‘Hova and Jaguar into a High Priestess. Wright come off as tame during the song first chorus (taken straight from Bobby “Blue” Bland’s classic version), but decides to take it to church on the second chorus as Jay can be heard in the background “ok, I feel ya, ma”. The highlight of Jigga’s performance was an inspired version of “Heart of the City (Ain’t No Love)” as the song taken to new heights by his vocal exchange with Wright. But Wright acquired buzz in ways never expected due to a “controversial” collaboration between the Roots and Jay Z as Wright served as the primary backing vocalists during the Jay Z’s recent Unplugged performance. And such was the case with Denials, Delusions, and Decisions the oft-delayed debut by Jaguar Wright. The critical success of Common’s Like Water for Chocolate and the debuts of both Jill Scott and Bilal are the best testaments to the site’s influence. Jaguar Wright ( City Paper, 31 January 2002)Īs always there’s the buzz and since the debut of the Okayplayer site in early 2000, everything remotely connected to the site and its flagship artists The Roots, generates its own self-contained promotional campaign. I’m more neo-soul than Blu Cantrell or Faith Evans or Usher! Those motherfuckers sing R&B - they don’t sing soul music. ![]() Blige performance.Yeah I’m black and I wear braids sometimes. The rapper responds by syncopating and scatting, launching slightly rejiggered choruses on “”Takeover”” and the tongue-twisting “”Jigga What, Jigga Who.”” Everything clicks, but there are several moments of pure delirium: “”Heart of the City (Ain’t No Love),”” which is enlivened by a spine-tingling gospel ad-lib from Philly newcomer Jaguar Wright, and “”Can’t Knock the Hustle/Family Affair,”” which turns on an incandescent Mary J. If The Blueprint and previous studio recordings are carefully scripted affairs built on pop song forms, Unplugged celebrates the possibilities of off-the-cuff interplay: The Roots sound like they’ve been backing Jay-Z for years - they push him to new heights just by working that minimal, relentlessly funky backbeat, supplying sparky little counterlines in the margins. Abandoning his usual sample-based production to mix it up with the fiery Roots rhythm section and a string quartet that provides more than just window dressing, he expands his familiar anthems with extemporaneous freestyle forays and smart instrumental interludes. Jay-Z gives himself an unexpected artistic makeover on the loose Unplugged, which was recorded live in November for an MTV special. ![]() ![]() TikTok video from Freezies_Treats_ "□ Attention FREEZIE fam! □ We’ve got a special treat just for you! □□ Message us the word “FIRST” and unlock an exclusive first-time discount on our irresistible lemon crunchies! □□ □Calling all lemon lovers! □ Ready to indulge in the ultimate crunch sensation? □□ Look no further! □ □ Brace yourself for a burst of tangy goodness and an explosion of crunch with every bite! □□ Our lemon crunchies are the epitome of perfection, delivering a zesty flavor that will leave you craving more! □✨ □ Don’t forget to comment “sweet” below after messaging us for your discount code! □□ Trust us, you won’t want to miss out on this delectable treat! □□ #LemonCrunchies #CrunchyDelights #TikTokExclusive #TasteTheCrunch #LemonLoversUnite #IrresistibleFlavor #DiscountCode #CrunchyGoodness #TikTokTreats #SweetSatisfaction". □ Attention FREEZIE fam! □□ #LemonCrunchies #CrunchyDelights #TikTokExclusive #TasteTheCrunch #LemonLoversUnite #IrresistibleFlavor #DiscountCode #CrunchyGoodness #TikTokTreats #SweetSatisfaction |
